The leader can be beaten!

The leader is not life time leader. This morning I got news that Wal Mart sold their all stores in South Korea to local player. Hahahaha. It's second news that make me laugh. Because some weeks ago, I got similar news. When French giant hypermarket withdraw all stores in South Korea.

For Carrefour, I think it was 3rd country that they closes all stores. Firstly in Hongkong, but they still control all its business in Asia from here. Secondly in Japan. And now in South Korea. Will it continued in other country?

Carrefour still strong in China, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia. Wal Mart ever suffered in Indonesia. When Wal Mart came to Indonesia, actually the competition still low than now. Only Makro and Alfa that lead the market. But currently getting crowd. Old players like Alfa, shift its stores concept to modern hypermarket from Wholesaler.  The new players are coming, for instance, Giant, Hypermarket.

The lesson is the leader can be beaten !
